Holidays and Closures

Seattle Tae Kwon Do is closed for all national holidays. In addition to this we are closed the last Saturday of each month for Color Belt Graduation Ceremonies. We do not close for spring break or mid winter break, however we do close the last week of December and the first Week of July for winter and summer Breaks. If the weather is not permitting and we need to cancel classes, we will send you an email. You may also call the school as we will have the phones forwarded to someone who can answer your questions at that time. Please be sure to pick up a monthly Sidekick Newsletter to updates on all monthly events and closures as well as check the Seattle Tae Kwon Do website for announcements. Tuition is not subject to adjustment for closures.

Attendance Policy

Students should attend two classes each week. If you miss any classes, you may make them up the week before (If you know in advance, such as holiday closure) or the after the absence. Please see the class schedule to see which classes are appropriate for your rank level. Students are not allowed to attend classes that are not designated for their age and skill level.

Tuition and Renewal Policies

Please refer to your signed copy of your Membership Agreement provided at enrollment for your specific program term, tuition rate, renewal date, and method of payment. The following are general policies:

Tuition Policy

We do not offer refunds on programs purchased. We do not offer pro-rations for tuition for classes missed. However you may freeze your membership for limited durations by filling out a "Freeze Notice" prior to the absence. Please see read the "Freeze Notice" for addition details and limitations. All payment for your program is due regardless of attendance.

Renewal Policy

Your program will automatically renew for a period of 12 months for the end of your current program with a 5% increase unless we are notified in writing 30 days prior to end of your initial membership agreement date. Please refer to your membership agreement for expiration dates. If we do not hear from you by the expiration date, the membership will be renewed and tuition payments will continue to be charged for the duration of the new term at increased rates. If it is your desire not to renew, you must contact the school in writing 30 days prior to end date of the your current program.

Payment Methods

All tuition payments are done electronically through Electronic Funds Transfer Auto-pay. Your monthly payment will be made electronically for you on the date specified on your membership agreement. If your credit card or checking account for payment needs to be changed you may do that anytime by filling out a "Billing Change Request" at the front counter. At any time you may pay off the balance of your current membership and receive a 10% discount.

Membership Cancelation

Account Cancellations are done if they are for one of the following reasons:

  1. Relocation which takes you 25 miles or more away from the school. This requires 30 days advanced notice and a written proof of the relocation, such as a lease or utility bill with your name and new adress on it.
  2. Health Concerns, this would be a written confirmation from a physician (Medical Doctor) agreeable to the school that you are permanetly disabled and unable to continue.
  3. For other provisions of cancellation, please refer to your membership agreement.

Freezing Your Membership

If your schedule requires that you take time off from your Tae Kwon Do class before the completion of your basic membership, you must notify Seattle Tae Kwon Do by submitting a "Freeze Notice" in advance of the month you are to be away. Payment of the absent month(s) will be made as usual. However, a credit for the "frozen" month will be applied to the end of the program term.

Terms & Conditions to Freeze


  • A full calendar month (1st to the 30th) is required to freeze-not partial months.
  • A maximum of 1 month may be frozen on a basic program and 2 months under a Black Belt Club Program.
  • Students that take time off beyond 1 or 2 months will not receive credit for missed time.
  • Credit will only be applied if the Freeze Notice form is provided before the freeze month.

VIP Gold Cards

Students are always welcome to invite their friends to join in on the fun. We have VIP Gold cards in the front lobby. Students may give these cards to their friends for a FREE month of classes and uniform! When your friend enrolls at Seattle Tae Kwon Do, you will receive a Seattle Tae Kwon Do t-shirt as a gift of gratitude. Remember the greatest compliment you could give our school is to speak highly of our school to others and invite them to join us for a free month.
